2025 春祭り
Spring Festival
Co-hosted by the Japanese Cultural Association of the Carolinas
and JASNC

The newly formed Japanese Cultural Association of the Carolinas (JCAC) and the Japan-America Society of North Carolina (JASNC) are pleased to host a Spring Matsuri this year. There is no entrance fee. All are welcome.
When: 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 29, 2025
Where: St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Road, Charlotte NC 28207
Parking is available at the church, on the other side of Queens Rd., and along Edgehill Rd. Parking is limited and is on a first come first serve basis.
Program Schedule
3:00-3:05 pm Opening Remarks - Tomoko Deguchi, JCAC/Michi Calcagno, JASNC
3:05-3:10 pm Wadaiko performance by SAIL students
3:10-3:15 pm Soran-bushi dancing with audience participation by SAIL students
3:25-3:40 pm Mini-lecture on Hinamatsuri/Sakura/Children’s Day by Anthony Black
3:50-4:05 pm Japanese songs by Naoko Watanabe and Tomoko Deguchi
4:15-4:30 pm Aikido demonstration by Matthew Attarian
4:40-4:55 pm Dance by Hana-akari Japanese dance troupe
4:55-5:00 pm Closing remarks - Tomoko Deguchi, JCAC/Michi Calcagno, JASNC
In addition, there will also be vendors selling baked goods and homemade items (cash or Venmo only), and children’s activity tables (origami, coloring, chigiri-e).

場所: セント マークス ルーテル教会、1001 Queens Road, Charlotte, NC 28207
駐車場は教会の駐車場の他、Queens Rd の反対側の駐車場とEdgehill Rd 沿いを利用できます。駐車場には限りがあり、利用は先着順となります。

15:05～15:10 和太鼓演奏（SAIL生徒有志）
15:10～15:15 ソーラン節（SAIL生徒有志、観客参加）
15:25～15:40 ひな祭り・桜・こどもの日のことミニ講座（アンソニー・ブラック）
15:50～16:05 日本の歌（渡部菜緒子と出口知子）
16:15～16:30 合気道デモンストレーション（マシュー・アタリアン）
16:40～16:55 ダンスパフォーマンス（花あかりダンスチーム）
16:55～17:00 閉会の挨拶 - JCAC 出口知子 / JASNC カルカーニョみち
他にも焼き菓子やハンドメードのもの販売（現金または Venmo のみ）、子供向けアクティビティテーブル（折り紙、ぬりえ、ちぎり絵）など盛りだくさんです。
